Adopt-A-Family for Christmas
Our Christmas Program allows individuals and families to “adopt” families in the Phoenix area by providing Christmas gifts and meals. Reach out and spread the joy this holiday season!
Assemble Pantry Packs
Families can help assemble weekend hunger backpacks containing seven meals and snacks for kids who rely on schools for two out of their three meals Mondays-Fridays. Kids must be at least age 5 to participate, and adult supervision is required.
Be A Bell Ringer
Do you have 2 hours to spare? Sign up to be a Bell Ringer! Your kids will love it! There are locations available all over Scottsdale/Phoenix. Man a kettle, ring the familiar bell and wish shoppers a joyous holiday!
Be A Singleton Santa
Sign up to sponsor a local family facing cancer through the Singleton Santa program. After being matched to a family in need, your family can shop for and wrap presents on their wish list. It’s your chance to make their holiday magical.
Christmas Toy Drive
The Holidays are a time for friends, family, and giving. Please help us make local children’s holiday season brighter, with a donation of any NEW toy.
Clean and Feed Bunnies
Changing litter boxes, cleaning and refilling water bowls, sweeping and cleaning the floor in the bunny’s room, providing a clean blanket and bed for the floor of the bunny’s room and feeding fresh hay.
Collect Food Donations
The OCC Pantry is always accepting non-expired, non-perishable food donations. You can download a list of items needed on their website and drop them off at OCC during normal business hours.
Collect Halloween Costumes
Are you looking to get rid of old Halloween costumes? Please consider donating your costume(s) to the kids of Maggie’s Place. We’re collecting sizes newborn through 12 yrs old. Please drop them off at Maggie’s Place.
Community Service Days
Community Days of Service projects in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve are good for the environment! We need your help to make sure this special place will be here for generations to come. We will provide all the tools needed for the project.
Consign For A Cause
Designate your favorite charity when you drop off your items! My Sisters’ Charities proudly raised $301,000 for nonprofits.
Deliver A Meal
Volunteer to deliver Meals on Wheels to home-bound recipients. My family did this last Thanksgiving & it was a fun & rewarding way to spend the holiday.
Distribute Turkeys!
Assist families at the Desert Mission with turkey distribution to local families. Assist clients thru the market to help them pick out their Thanksgiving dinner or help clients to their vehicle to unload groceries.
Donate Essential Needs
The Essential Needs Program provides gift cards for CASAs to shop for essential items needed by their CASA Children – from shoes to winter coats. These are offered in quarterly campaigns based upon season to the CASAs.
Donate Supplies for the Reptiles!
We are always in need of the following items: 32 Gallon Husky Brute Trash Cans, Lids for 32 Gallon Husky Brute Trash Cans, Contractor Garbage Bags, Canned Cat food (shreds and Patee), Rakes, Garden Hoses, Chicken Feed, Brooms, Paper Towels, Bleach, Scrubby Brushes, Pool Skimmers, Gift cards to stores we visit regularly like OfficeMax, Walmart, Target, Home Depot, or Lowes, Alfalfa Hay, Timothy Hay, and much more! Call 602-501-2930 to set up a time to drop them off!
Hearts and Hands Days
Hearts and Hands is an upbeat, family-friendly volunteer event with a variety of volunteer opportunities for all ages! Children participate in activities such as filling hygiene bottles with soap and shampoo, decorating dining rooms, creating thank-you cards for our volunteers, and making table centerpieces which are often taken home by guests who treasure their beauty. It’s a great way to introduce kids to service and giving back.
Help Our Four-Legged Friends
Each volunteer helps for about 2-3 hours, packing up all the cat litter, canned goods, dry goods, etc. preparing the delivery boxes to be ready to go when the delivery volunteers show up on Saturday mornings.
Help Us Fill Santa's Sleigh!
Shop as a family, then visit the new home of Arizona Helping Hands with toys, games, books, puzzles and more to make the HOLIDAYS joyful for kids in foster care.
Holiday Toy Drive
Each year unwrapped new toys are accepted from toy drives held by companies, community organizations and individual donors. Every child admitted to the hospital over the December holidays will receive a toy.
Host an Art Supply Drive
Host an Art Supply Drive to collect donations for Free Arts. Free Arts uses the healing powers of the arts to help abused and homeless children build resiliency and learn to trust and heal.
Jr Volunteer Days
AAWL’s Education Dept is proud to introduce Junior Volunteer Days. Led by a professional humane educator, Jr Volunteer Days allow children ages 8-17 to participate in the day-to-day volunteer activities of the shelter in a structured, safe environment.
Kids For Wish Kids
Students throughout our community are coming together to help raise funds for future wishes. The Kids For Wish Kids program is an opportunity for local kids and teens to help make wishes come true for children living in their own community. The program benefits the kids who receive the gift of a wish, and the teens who learn and grow by participating in community service.
Pack A Meal
Find available volunteer times for you and your friends, family, business, school, church and more! Help turn hunger into hope with your own two hands by packing nutritious meals for hungry children around the world.
Pack A Shoebox Of Items For A Child In Need
This is a wonderful way for kids to get involved. You shop to fill a shoebox with a gift and some basic school supplies or hygiene items for a child. There are drop off locations throughout Scottsdale/Phoenix.

When you pledge your birthday, you ask your friends and family to donate to Swift in lieu of giving you gifts. Your pledge that will positively impact the lives of children for years to come.
Read To A Dog At Reading Fur Fun
Is your child a passionate animal lover but not quite old enough to volunteer? Reading Fur Fun is a special reading program that gives children the opportunity to improve their reading skills by enriching the lives of shelter dogs!
Read To Children At UMOM New Day Center
Want to help a child build a lifetime love of reading? It’s a powerful gift. Volunteer readers work with children ages 4 -12 years old. Read to Me is a great opportunity for families (children age 8 or over are welcome to be readers).
Shop & Donate A New Toy
Drop off a new, unwrapped toy at the Disney store and Disney will donate $5 to Toys for Tots, up to $1 million! The U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program collects & distributes toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate local children.
Sponsor An Animal
By sponsoring a sanctuary animal, you are helping SWCC provide the proper food & care necessary for that animal to live out the rest of their life with us. This year, we are offering the option to sponsor a nursery baby!
Support An Education Program At GiGi's Playhouse
GiGi’s Playhouse provides free programs for individuals with Down Syndrome. Volunteer to support the program host & interact with the kids! Have a group interested in volunteering together? The more the better!
