Solving the issues in your tissues!
SERVICES
Clinical Integrative Massage
This is a customized service that may include several modalities to enhance the healing experience for the receiver. While relaxation techniques may be used, more commonly the use of neuromuscular techniques, stretching, and self care instructions are provided.
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger points are areas in a muscle with exquisite sensation that may refer to a another area of the body in mostly predictable patterns. Therapy for trigger points can sometimes be uncomfortable but should never take your breath away. Please communicate well with your therapist.
Myofascial Techniques
Myofascial techniques are performed using no lubricant and used to target specific sensory nerves in the body that may be responsible for chronic pain perception. The technique is very slow and patient and is used to address the connective tissue system that surrounds every muscle fiber, organ, and nerve in our body that may experience dysfunction due to trauma or overuse.
Pregnancy Massage
Pregnancy is not a pathology but an experience of significant change in the body in a short period of time. More often than not, people are apprehensive about providing massage to pregnant women due to the many myths out there. Nurturing touch is imperative during this time for development and to reduce stress for the mom-to-be. Stress is the main cause of most complications during pregnancy. All trimesters of pregnancy and high risk pregnant women are welcome to receive massage without incident, despite the myths that have been circulated for decades. I do have additional certifications in high risk pregnancy massage.
BCST (Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy)
A noninvasive, gentle approach to healing body/mind/spirit from shock and trauma of all kinds, leading to a healthier, more grounded, centered, and peaceful state of being. Recognizing body/mind/spirit as a whole, whose innate ability is to heal itself, the practitioner taps into the client’s system and bears witness to the inherent health of that system. While doing so, the practitioner is made aware of blockages restricting the body’s natural flow (impediments to health) and in doing so, allows the wholeness of the client to be the lead factor in how and in what manner healing will take place. This occurs through spontaneous healing with the release and/or unwinding of various trauma held within the body.
Trauma has many forms, starting from the time of birth. Any overwhelming experience which body/mind/spirit cannot process completely in the moment, leaves residual energy from that event, which the system encapsulates and tucks away to be processed at a later time. Our lives are so busy, that encapsulated energy rarely gets processed and, over time, may lead to or present as dis-ease or recurring symptoms including pain, stiffness or even emotional or mental discomfort or anxiety.
The Intelligence of each person’s entire being is the first and foremost authority on what needs to happen, how, and in what order that should take place in order to attain its ideal personal health. Though many modalities exist which can effectively release muscular or skeletal discomfort resulting from trauma, the actual release of energy caused from that trauma is key to assuring that discomfort does not become a recurring or triggered problem.
LED Therapy
The team at Integrative Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork are now offering LED therapy in multiple forms! Red light therapy can now be integrated into your massage therapy session. Need more than red light therapy? We also can accommodate multi-light therapy that includes red, blue, green and yellow- all have incredible benefits for chronic pain and recovery of all kinds. Perhaps you have a more targeted area that needs specific attention? A red light wand can be used to address those more specific areas. Each can be integrated into your massage therapy session or be booked as a stand-alone service!
Red Light Therapy
The use of red light exposure may produce a positive biochemical effect in your cells that strengthens the mitochondria, which is where the cell’s energy is created. RLT may do this by increasing the transportation of electrons, oxygen consumption, and your levels of ATP (adenosine triphosphate). By increasing the energy of the mitochondria, cells may function more efficiently, as well as rejuvenate and repair themselves.
Blue Light Therapy
The use of blue light may kill bacteria, reduce inflammation, and speed up healing. Several studies indicate that blue light can be useful in treating skin related issues such as Eczema and Psoriasis, which are inflammatory conditions of the skin.
Green Light Therapy
Green-hued light can increase alertness, concentration and focus. It can relieve stress and tension, helping you feel more energized and motivated throughout the day. In addition, green light therapy is found to help with sleep disorders by promoting better quality restful sleep. Green light seems to lead to an increase in the body’s production of enkephalins, pain-killing opioid-like chemicals. It may help in reducing inflammation, which plays a role in many chronic pain conditions.
Yellow Light Therapy
Yellow light is best known for skin cell rejuvenation and its soothing anti-inflammatory benefits. It may also boost lymphatic flow, which aids the immune system and helps reduce swelling. The primary benefit of yellow light therapy is the stimulation of red blood cell creation. These red blood cells eventually help improve the rejuvenation of skin cells and speed up the healing process.
