If you’re like me and the first thought you had when you heard the word ‘pickleball’ is: “I think that’s for a different generation,” quickly think again. This sport is social, friendly, and an all-around game of pure fun and competitiveness for every generation, from Baby Boomers to Gen Z.

Pickleball has exploded in popularity over the past few years and has been revolutionized as a sport for everyone. Communities across the Valley have created spaces for players of various skill levels to practice and compete, and while these courts are good, the area needs a unique hub for all pickleball fanatics to convene. That’s where PURE Pickleball steps in.

Opening in the Fall of 2024 near the AZ Boardwalk, PURE Pickleball will become Arizona’s largest world-class pickleball facility. Local fans and competitors alike are invited to learn, play, and spectate pickleball in an “ideal infrastructure that connects with the community in a thousand ways,” said Brett Warner, Co-Founder of PURE Pickleball.

Co-Founders Brett Warner and Kevin J. Berk founded PURE Pickleball in 2022. They signed a joint venture with CaliberCos, Inc., to bring next-level pickleball products, specialized programs and clinics, an agency for top-ranked professionals, and high-quality experiences to fellow Scottsdale residents alike.

PURE Pickleball’s one-of-a-kind 10-acre campus will provide the highest standard of courts, professional-level lighting, and new enriched technology for live-streaming matches and private lessons. Phased construction will commence with 28 indoor, privately fenced, gated courts, a 500-seat stadium court, a pro shop, a café, and locker rooms. 16 outdoor courts will be added during Phase 2, followed by a members-only clubhouse and two special event rooftop courts during Phase 3.

PURE will be a member-based facility focusing on comprehensive programming for all ages and skill levels. Membership will include an exclusive array of benefits like childcare, health and wellness services, access to a gym with flex spaces for yoga and pilates classes, plus an on-site restaurant and bar.

In addition to skill-based programming, adult players can attend daily learn-to-play clinics, sign up for private or group lessons, and participate in specialized clinics and camps. For ultra-competitive players, ladders, leagues, and tournaments will be created.

The facilities at PURE Pickleball will be unmatched. Additions like ball machine courts for drilling, warm-up areas with THE Dink Wall practice backboard, and the “Smart Court,” a first-of-its-kind program with high-tech motion capture and pro coach analysis, will assist players in fine-tuning their skills for better performance.

PURE Pickleball will be a welcoming facility for players of all skill levels, from beginner to pro. In addition to fostering a learning and playing environment, PURE will be the “home, permanent headquarters, and official National Training Center” for USA Pickleball, according to the association’s COO, Justin Maloof.
