Homeschool Explorations Eco-Engineering (recommended for ages 9-11)

April 25 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am

This Earth Day, we invite students to embark on a journey of environmental discovery and hands-on creativity. In this special workshop, participants will delve into the principles of sustainable building practices and passive solar design, exploring how the renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright integrated these techniques at Taliesin West.

Gain insights into the eco-friendly approaches that Wright employed to harmonize architecture with the natural environment. Understand the significance of sustainable building practices in reducing ecological impact and fostering a more harmonious relationship with the Earth.

The workshop will then transition to the exciting realm of solar power. Participants will learn about the transformative potential of solar energy and its role in sustainable living. To reinforce these concepts, students will engage in a hands-on activity, crafting their own mini solar projects. This creative endeavor allows them to witness firsthand the power of solar technology and understand its potential in shaping a more sustainable future.

Through this Earth Day workshop, we aim to inspire a sense of environmental responsibility and showcase the practical applications of sustainable design. Join us for a day of learning, creativity, and a celebration of our planet as we explore the legacy of Frank Lloyd Wright and embrace the possibilities of a solar-powered future.
