When it comes to organizing fun group outings, I love bringing friends and family together for unforgettable experiences, and our Friday night at Buffalo Chip Saloon & Steakhouse was no exception. We had two full-size party buses from my go-to company, Scottsdale Party Bus & Limo, picking up families from Scottsdale and Paradise Valley, and driving us to Cave Creek for a night of bull riding and mutton-busting fun. Whether it’s concerts, Christmas light tours, or events like this, Scottsdale Party Bus & Limo always delivers—on time, friendly drivers, and reasonable prices. And no, they didn’t pay me to say this!
With a group of 60+ people, we rented the VIP party deck at Buffalo Chip, which gave us our own private staff, bar, and a buffet dinner. The party deck provided prime viewing of the rodeo, with reserved seating so everyone could enjoy the show in style. While the Buffalo Chip has multiple party decks available, we had to go for the biggest one this time around to accommodate everyone, and it was perfect.
Buffalo Chip is famous for its live rodeo action, with bull riding every Wednesday and Friday night. Friday nights offer something extra special—the kids’ mutton-busting, where the little ones get to hop on a sheep and try their hand at riding. Watching the kids muster up the courage and cheering them on is a highlight of the night. The gates open at 6 PM, with bull riding starting at 8 PM, 9:30 PM, and 10:45 PM. Mutton-busting kicks off right after the first round of bull riding, and trust me, it’s an absolute blast for both the kids and the audience.
Our night didn’t just stop with rodeo thrills. The buffet had all the fixins’ you’d expect at a proper country get-together: pit-smoked beef brisket, St. Louis smoked spare ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, Mom’s Potato Salad, Buttered Corn, and Cowboy Beans—delicious comfort food to keep us going through the evening. The staff at Buffalo Chip made everything seamless, from booking the event to ensuring we had everything we needed for a memorable night. And no, Buffalo Chip didn’t pay me to say this either—they’re just that good!
Beyond the rodeo, Buffalo Chip is a lively spot throughout the week with live music from Tuesday to Saturday, free country line dancing lessons on Tuesday and Sunday nights, and Two Step dance lessons on Thursdays. They’re even a Green Bay Packers watch site during football season, making it a go-to spot for any Packers fans out there.
If you’re looking to dive into the best of Western nightlife, complete with live rodeo action, country music, and all the BBQ you can handle, Buffalo Chip is your year-round destination for authentic, high-energy fun. Our group had an unforgettable night, and I can’t wait to plan the next one!
